Pirates Fall At Georgetown On Sunday

WASHINGTON, D. C. – The Seton Hall women's basketball team (8-10, 1-6 BIG EAST) dropped the back-end of a two-game road swing with a 77-58 setback at Georgetown (10-7, 2-5 BIG EAST) on Sunday afternoon at McDonough Arena.
Seton Hall led by two after a quarter but it was all Georgetown in the second and third frames, as GU out-scored The Hall 50-17 in the middle periods to swell their lead to as many as 33 in the second half. JaQuan Jackson (Killeen, Texas) led the Pirates with 19 points in the setback, while Martha Kuderer (Eden Prairie, Minn.) joined her in double-figures with 10 points off the bench. For the Hoyas, Mykia Jones led four players in double-figures with 20 points on 5-of-7 shooting from 3-point range.
Turning Point
After using a 21-8 edge in the second quarter to build a double-digit halftime lead, the Hoyas stormed out of the gates in the third quarter to swell their lead and force a Seton Hall timeout. GU scored 17 of the first 20 points in the third frame to take a 37-26 halftime lead to a 54-29 advantage at 6:19 of the third. The Hoyas would keep use the fast start to the third to keep their advantage above 20 the rest of the way.
