SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – Barnabas Health, the state’s largest hospital and health care system, has been named “Official Health Care Provider” of Seton Hall Athletics, further expanding its longstanding relationship with the University.
Barnabas Health will provide health and wellness services to the University’s Athletics Department, including the Seton Hall Pirates’ 14 NCAA Division I intercollegiate men’s and women’s teams, club sports, intramurals and staff. Working closely with the director of sports medicine, team doctors and athletics administration, Barnabas Health will offer access to a myriad of specialists for students, faculty and staff as well as health education, wellness and fitness programs to keep students healthy while providing the best care possible.

Specifically, the first-class care that will be provided to our student-athletes by Barnabas Health will complement one of our most recent facility upgrades in the state-of-the-art Center for Sports Medicine.“

As part of the partnership, Barnabas Health will conduct numerous outreach initiatives and special programs focused on health education and wellness for the Seton Hall community. Student athletes will have access to a dedicated team of Barnabas Health navigators making a wide array of specialty services available and more easily accessible. Barnabas Health will also regularly offer screenings, health tips, prevention seminars and nutrition and wellness options on campus.
“This partnership contributes to our underlying goal of providing student athletes with the finest resources and services to succeed. Barnabas Health has a great reputation that stretches throughout the state, so it only made sense to form this relationship,” said Lyons.
Barnabas Health will also serve as sponsor of the Junior Pirates Club for fans 8th grade and younger, “Play for Kay” breast cancer awareness women’s basketball game, Think Pink volleyball game, Barnabas Health Intercollegiate Golf Tournament, Strike Out Cancer Baseball Tournament and Community Corner, donating men’s and women’s basketball tickets to local charity organizations. The partnership also includes a significant marketing/branding presence across various platforms, including online, radio, in-arena at the Prudential Center and on campus.
Additionally, Barnabas Health will have a significant presence at the Prudential Center for all Seton Hall basketball home games and permanent signage on campus in Walsh Gymnasium, the Richie Regan Recreation Center and at the softball, soccer, swimming, baseball and tennis facilities.
Barnabas Health Essex County facilities include Saint Barnabas Medical Center (Livingston), Newark Beth Israel Medical Center and the Children’s Hospital of New Jersey (Newark), Clara Maass Medical Center (Belleville) and the Barnabas Health Ambulatory Care Center (Livingston).
