Seton Hall University Track and Field Alumni are invited to join Coach Moon and his staff this November for the Moon Relays. That means it's time to find your running shoes and start the warm up stretches now. This is a great event not only for alumni to catch up with former teammates, but to also meet the new faces of the Seton Hall Track and Field program.
Current student athletes look forward to starting off their season with this time honored tradition. Toneisha Friday, a Senior who will participate in her last Moon Relays, says, "The Moon Relays for me are bittersweet. To be honest, I will be glad when it is over. I have to run 800 meters and I am a sprinter, not mid-distance runner. But this is the only time where track is not so serious. It is a great introduction to the season. It's an opportunity to interact with the other teammates and relax. It's not practice, not a meet... it's just fun!"
The relays are a great opportunity for current members of the team to run just for the fun of it. But they shouldn't get to relaxed. The competition can be tough. Track and Field Junior, Tom Corona says, "With the older alumni, it puts the program into perspective. I get to meet record holders and I realize how lucky I am to be coached be John Moon." A lot of talented participants are in the race because the Seton Hall Track and Field program produces only the best.
Come join the Track and Field Team for this special day. Pirate Blue will provide light refreshments following the meet so be sure to bring family and friends to share in this special day. The Moon Relays will be held on Saturday, November 7th, 2009 from 8:30am to 10:00am at the Richard and Sheila Regan Field House in the Recreational Center.
