Melanie Calderwood joined the Seton Hall University Department of Athletics as the Coordinator for Student-Athlete Development & Special Projects in 2008. Prior to that she spent two years with the Department of Athletics at the University of Louisville.

In addition to developing and coordinating community service activities for all of Seton Hall's student-athletes and teams to participate in, Calderwood is also involved as a moderator for the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and its event planning. She works with both campus-wide and athletics communications channels to help promote all of the community service and outreach initiatives that Seton Hall's student-athletes participate in on a regular basis.

Calderwood implements programming designed to support student-athlete leadership training and character development, in addition to career planning. Sheassists student-athletes with job search strategies for internships and post-graduate careers, and in the spring of 2012 helped launch the first annual Student-Athlete Leadership forum.

Additionally, Calderwood is the academic advisory for three varsity teams, helping student-athletes with major declaration and classroom success.

Calderwood spent two years at Louisville where she held three different positions. She was a sports information intern for two years and also served as an Athletic Business Affairs Assistant and the Assistant for Student-Athlete Development and Championships. Calderwood has extensive volunteer experience, assisting with BIG EAST Conference, Mountain West Conference and NCAA Championship events.

Calderwood graduated from Colorado State University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Business and obtained a Master of Science in Sport Administration at Louisville in 2008. She currently resides in Maplewood, N.J.
