SETON HALL STATUS
Seton Hall fell in overtime to Rutgers, 77-72, last Saturday. Jordan Theodore led the team with 17 points, nine assists and just one turnover. The Pirates are seeking their first 20-win season since 2003-04. Theodore now has 197 assists, tying Seton Hall's single-season record set in 1962-63. Fuquan Edwin, a BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year candidate, currently leads the nation in steals and steals per game. He tied Seton Hall's single-season record for steals with 90.
DE PAUL STATUS
DePaul enters Saturday's matchup with Seton Hall with a record of 11-18, 2-15 and has lost nine straight and 14 of its last 15 games. Most recently, the Blue Demons fell at West Virginia, 92-75, on Tuesday. Sophomores Cleveland Melvin and Brandon Young both scored 21 points in defeat. This year, they're both averaging at least 15 points per game. DePaul is 6-9 at Allstate Arena this year. The Blue Demons have lost the last two times they've hosted Seton Hall.

Seton Hall and DePaul will meet for the second time this season and 11th time in history on Saturday. The Pirates own an 8-2 all-time series lead and have won five straight and six of the last seven meetings. On Jan. 10, Seton Hall defeated the Blue Demons, 94-73, at the Prudential Center. The 94 points scored matches the highest output for the Pirates this season. Fuquan Edwin scored a career-high 28 points, while Jordan Theodore added 26 points.

SETON HALL FALLS TO RUTGERS IN OVERTIME
Five Pirates scored in double-figures, but Seton Hall fell to Rutgers, 77-72, in overtime on Senior Night at the Prudential Center. Rutgers was 10-for-15 from three-point range against a Pirates' defense that ranked second in the BIG EAST in defending the arc. Seton Hall falls to 1-2 in overtime games this season. The Pirates shot 45.3% from the field, compared to 52.7% for Rutgers.
THEODORE TIES SUNKETT
Senior Jordan Theodore recorded nine assists vs. Rutgers on Feb. 25 to tie Golden Sunkett's single-season record of 197 assists. With a minimum of two games remaining, Theodore should shatter the record that was set 49 years ago, in the 1962-63 season. Sunkett was the point guard for Seton Hall great Nick Werkman in the early 1960s.Theodore is currently second in the BIG EAST averaging 6.8 assists per game.
EDWIN TIES GAUSE
Sophomore Fuquan Edwin recorded seven steals vs. Rutgers on Feb. 25 to tie Paul Gause's single-season record of 90 steals. Gause set the record during the 2006-07 season and recorded 85 steals, second-most all-time, in 2008-09. With at least two games remaining, Edwin should shatter the record.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR CANDIDATE
Sophomore Fuquan Edwin has emerged as a favorite to be named BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year. The 6-foot-6 swingman currently leads the nation with 90 steals and 3.1 steals per game. No BIG EAST player in history has led the nation in those categories. Additionally, Edwin has tied both Seton Hall's single-season and single-game record for steals.
NEW ATTENDANCE RECORD
At Seton Hall's game vs. Rutgers on Feb. 25, Pirates fans set a new Prudential Center attendance record for a Seton Hall game with 10,945. Pirates fans came out in droves to celebrate the careers of graduating seniors Pete Dill, Herb Pope and Jordan Theodore.
FAB FIVE FOR THEODORE
Senior Jordan Theodore was named to the BIG EAST's Weekly Honor Roll on Feb. 27 for the fifth time this season. The 6-foot point guard averaged 23.0 points and 7.0 assists per game in a 1-1 week for the Pirates. On Feb. 21, Theodore led all scorers with a career-high 29 points in Seton Hall's 73-55 upset over #9 Georgetown. Against Rutgers, Theodore scored a team-high 17 points to go with nine assists and just one turnover. His nine assists give him 197 for the season, which ties Golden Sunkett's Seton Hall single-season record set in 1962-63.
REGULAR SEASON FINALES
Seton Hall is 65-39 all-time in regular season finales, but is just 15-19 in regular season finales on the road. Last season, the Pirates won their final regular season game with a resounding 85-72 victory over Marquette at the Prudential Center. They also won their last road finale, a 92-80 victory at Providence to close the 2009-10 regular season.
IRON MAN
Senior Jordan Theodore has played in 124 career games at Seton Hall, which ranks him seventh all-time, just two behind Daryll Walker and Ramon Ramos. He has played in every Seton Hall game since the start of the 2008-09 season.
PIRATES UPSET #9 GEORGETOWN, 73-55
Seton Hall dictated play from start and defeated #9 Georgetown, 73-55, on Feb. 21 at the Prudential Center. The Pirates shot a blistering 61% from the field and were 8-for-13 from three-point range against a Hoyas defense that was averaging the second fewest points allowed per game in the BIG EAST. Seton Hall (19-9, 8-8) has now won four of its last five games. Georgetown suffered its worst loss of the season. The 18-point victory is the largest for the Pirates in their series with the Hoyas since a 75-48 win on February 28, 2004.
KING JORDAN
Senior Jordan Theodore scored a career-high 29 points in Seton Hall's 73-55 upset of #9 Georgetown on Feb. 21. The point guard was an efficient 8-for-11 from the field, including 5-for-5 from three-point range, a career best. Theodore was also a perfect 8-for-8 from the free-throw line, grabbed four rebounds and dished out five assists in 33 minutes of action.
GOING FOR 20
Seton Hall will be looking for its 20th victory of the season Saturday vs. DePaul. The Pirates have reached 20 wins 13 times in their history, but haven't since they went 21-10 in the 2003-04 season. 147 of the 152 BIG EAST all-time teams that won 20 games reached the NCAA tournament.
DOWNING TOP-10'S
Seton Hall's victory over #9 Georgetown on Feb. 21 was the second victory over a Top-10 team this season. On Jan. 3, the Pirates defeated #8 Connecticut, 75-63. It's the first time since the 2002-03 season that Seton Hall has defeated two Top-10 teams in the same year. That season, the Pirates defeated #10 Notre Dame and #7 Pittsburgh.
SENIOR NIGHT
During a pre-game ceremony on Feb. 25, Seton Hall honored four graduating seniors, manager Jeff Sfraga, and players Pete Dill, Herb Pope and Jordan Theodore. Pete "The Hammer" Dill has become a cult hero with his infectious personality and impressive bench celebrations. The two-year walk-on has appeared in eight career games and scored his first career points vs. NJIT earlier this season. Herb Pope is only the sixth player in Seton Hall history to record 1,000 career points and 800 career rebounds. He's the only player in Seton Hall history to lead the BIG EAST in rebounding. Jordan Theodore, the team's lone four-year senior, is only the fourth player in Seton Hall history to record 1,200 career points and 500 career assists.
PIRATES RALLY FALLS SHORT AT CINCY, 62-57
Seton Hall rallied from trailing by as many as 15 points, but could not complete the come back and lost at Cincinnati, 62-57, on Feb. 18. Jordan Theodore and Fuquan Edwin led the Pirates with 15 points apiece. Senior Herb Pope notched his 15th double-double of the season with 10 points and a game-high 14 rebounds. Despite the loss, Seton Hall out-rebounded the Bearcats, 39-to-37 and forced more turnovers, 13-to-9.
PIRATES DOMINATE ST. JOHN'S, 94-64
Seton Hall matched its largest victory of the season with a 94-64 throttling of St. John's on Feb. 14. Six Pirates scored in double-figures for Seton Hall, which collectively shot a season-high 62.3% from the field. The Pirates also out-rebounded the Red Storm, 39-to-26. The victory improved Seton Hall to 7-7 in the BIG EAST Conference. The seven BIG EAST victories match last year's final total.
BIG WIN
Seton Hall's 94-64 victory over St. John's on Feb. 14 represents the second-largest margin of victory ever for a Pirates win of a BIG EAST game. The largest margin of victory ever was a 97-66 victory over West Virginia on Feb. 5, 2000.
A TRIPLE OF DOUBLE-DOUBLES
In Seton Hall's 94-64 victory over St. John's on Feb. 14, three Pirates recorded double-doubles. Jordan Theodore had 16 points and 10 assists. Herb Pope had 10 points and 10 rebounds, while Patrik Auda came off the bench to record his first career double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Seton Hall hasn't had three players notch a double-double in one game since Anthony Avent, Terry Dehere and Gordon Winchester did so on Dec. 9, 1990 against LIU.
HOT SHOOTING
Seton Hall shot a season-high 62.3% from the field vs. St. John's on Feb. 14. It is the highest field goal percentage for the Pirates since last March when they shot 64.3% also against St. John's. Seton Hall's 15 made three-pointers is also a season-high and the most since draining 20 vs. VMI on Dec. 12, 2009.
ST. PATRIK'S DAY
Sophomore Patrik Auda broke out with his first career double-double vs. St. John's on Feb. 14. The 6-foot-9 Czech Republic native came off the bench to record 12 points, on 5-for-6 shooting, and 10 rebounds in just 23 minutes of action. The versatile forward who has had difficulty staying out of foul trouble this season did not commit a single personal foul vs. St. John's.
CAREER-HIGHS ALL AROUND
Several career-highs were set in Seton Hall's victory over St. John's on Feb. 14. Freshman Brandon Mobley scored a career-high 14 points. Freshman Aaron Cosby dished out a career-high five assists. Freshman Haralds Karlis scored a career-high 13 points. Freshman Freddie Wilson matched his career-high of seven points and sophomore Patrik Auda grabbed a career-high 10 rebounds.
PIRATES TO COMPETE IN HOF TOURNAMENT
Seton Hall will participate in the 2012 Basketball Hall of Fame Tip-Off Tournament. The annual NCAA men's exempt tournament, sponsored by the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, will take place the weekend of November 16th-18th at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut featuring eight schools in two four-team brackets. All teams will also compete in two campus round games. Including Seton Hall, teams scheduled to participate in this year's Tip-Off tournament are Loyola, Norfolk State, Ohio State, Albany, Missouri-Kansas City, Rhode Island and Washington.
PIRATES TAME PANTHERS, 73-66
Seton Hall won its second straight game with a 73-66 victory over Pittsburgh at the Prudential Center on Feb. 12. The Pirates' offense churned out its most points scored since it scored 76 in a loss at Villanova on Jan. 18. Seton Hall shot 44.8% from the field, compared to just 39.0% for Pittsburgh. Seniors Herb Pope and Jordan Theodore as well as freshman Aaron Cosby all turned in strong efforts.
BRING THE BEST OF POPE
When Seton Hall plays Pittsburgh, Herb Pope, a native of Aliquippa, Pa., seems to bring his best games. The senior erupted for his 13th double-double of the season against the Panthers on Feb. 12 with 19 points and a game-high 14 rebounds. He also added three assists, three blocks and a pair of steals in a strong all-around performance.
COSBY'S CAREER-HIGH
Coming off a strong performance at Rutgers, freshman Aaron Cosby kept the three-pointers raining against Pittsburgh on Feb. 12. The Louisville native scored a career-high 19 points on the strength of a career-high five made three-pointers. Cosby also had three rebounds and two steals.
THEODORE NOTCHES FOURTH HONOR ROLL
Senior Jordan Theodore was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on for the fourth time this season on Feb. 13. The 6-foot point guard averaged 19.5 points and 6.0 assists per game in guiding the Pirates to a 2-0 week. Theodore led all scorers with 24 points to go with three assists and three steals in a 59-54 victory at Rutgers. He tallied 15 points to go with a game-high nine assists with just one turnover in a 73-66 victory over Pittsburgh. Theodore's three-pointer with 5:17 remaining in the contest gave Seton Hall the lead for good.
PIRATES SNAP SKID WITH 59-54 WIN AT RUTGERS
Seton Hall used a 10-1 run in the final minutes of the game to defeat Rutgers, 59-54, and snap a six-game losing streak. The Pirates won for the fifth straight time in Piscataway. Seton Hall shot 42.9% from the field, which is their highest mark since shooting 44.4% at USF six games ago.
BOARDING BRANDON
Freshman Brandon Mobley made his third career start on Feb. 8 at Rutgers and grabbed a career-high 10 rebounds, all in the second half. The Savannah, Ga. native also dished out a career-high three assists in 32 minutes of action.
THEODORE SCORES
Senior Jordan Theodore scored a game-high 24 points in Seton Hall's win at Rutgers on Feb. 8. The point guard was 8-for-15 from the field and 7-for-8 from the free-throw line. Theodore also dished out three assists and recorded three steals. His performance made him just the 28th player in Seton Hall history to record 1,200 career points.
HAPPY RETURN FOR HERB
Senior Herb Pope returned to the starting lineup at Rutgers after missing one game due to bruised ribs. The 6-foot-8 power forward suffered the injury while diving on the floor for a loose ball at Marquette on Jan. 31. Pope recorded his 12th double-double of the season with 12 points and 12 rebounds in his return on Feb. 8.
HALL CALLS FOR HOLLOWAY
Seton Hall announced that Shaheen Holloway, Pirates legend and current associate head coach, will be part of its 2012 Athletics Hall of Fame class. A three-time All-BIG EAST performer, he Holloway ranks first in school history with 681 assists, third with 437 steals and 12th in scoring, with 1,588 points. Holloway capped off his impressive four-year career by guiding the Pirates to the Sweet 16 in the 2000 NCAA Tournament. Other members of the 2012 class include Mike Costigan, Nolle Graham, Sacha Kljestan, George Ramos Curvy and Al Frungillo.
PIRATES VISIT PEDIATRIC UNIT
Prior to their victory at Rutgers on Feb. 8, the Pirates visited the pediatric unit at St. Peter's University hospital. Head coach Kevin Willard has stressed the importance of community service being a valuable part of the college experience for a student-athlete.
COLD SHOOTING HURTS PIRATES AT UCONN, 69-46
Seton Hall shot a season-low 25.9% from the field as it lost to Connecticut, 69-46, on Feb. 4. The loss is the Pirates' sixth straight and drops them to 15-8 overall and 4-7 in the BIG EAST. The team was without leading scorer and rebounder Herb Pope who missed the contest due to bruised ribs. Jordan Theodore and Aaron Cosby led the Pirates with 10 points apiece.
BIG EAST ADDS MEMPHIS
The BIG EAST Conference announced the addition of the University of Memphis as a full conference member. The Tigers will begin competing in the BIG EAST in the 2013-14 academic year. The addition of Memphis brings the BIG EAST's football membership to 12 schools. Ultimately, the BIG EAST will have 17 full members. In December, the BIG EAST announced the additions of Central Florida, Houston and SMU as full members and Boise State and San Diego State as football members. In January, Navy was also added as a football member.
PIRATES FALL AT #15 MARQUETTE, 66-59
Seton Hall led by as many as 11 points and held a four-point advantage at the half, but could not hold on as they fell to #15 Marquette, 66-59, on Jan. 31. The loss is the Pirates' fifth straight and drops them to 15-7 overall and 4-6 in the BIG EAST. Herb Pope led Seton Hall with 16 points, seven rebounds and three steals. Fuquan Edwin came off the bench to score 13 points, pull down five rebounds and add three steals to his BIG EAST lead.
CENTURY CLUB ADDS ANOTHER
Needing only four points at Marquette, senior Herb Pope scored 16 points and became the 39th player in Seton Hall history to record 1,000 career points. Making the feat even more impressive is that the power forward has reached the mark in less than three full seasons. Pope is the sixth player in Pirates' history to record 1,000 points and 800 rebounds.
A PAIR OF NEW CLUB MEMBERS
This season, Jordan Theodore and Herb Pope became the 38th and 39th players respectively to join the 1,000-point club at Seton Hall. It's only the 10th time in Pirates' history that a pair of teammates have joined the club in the same season. Most recently, Eugene Harvey and Jeremy Hazell joined the club during the 2008-09 season.
FIRST TIME STARTERS
On Jan. 31 at Marquette, three Pirates saw the starting lineup for the first time. Sophomore Aaron Geramipoor as well as freshmen Haralds Karlis and Freddie Wilson started the game with lineup mainstays Herb Pope and Jordan Theodore.
STEADY FREDDIE
Freshman Freddie Wilson made the most of his first collegiate start at Marquette on Jan. 31. The backup point guard scored a career-high seven points on 3-for-4 shooting. His three-pointer with 3:25 remaining in the game cut the Pirates' deficit to five points. Wilson also dished out a career-high three assists.
DEFENSIVE EFFORT
Despite the Pirates' recent slump, the team has been turning in solid defensive efforts. In four of the six games, Seton Hall has held its opponent to 66 points or less. Against Notre Dame, Louisville and Marquette, the Pirates held their opponents to an average of 11.9 points below their season averages coming into their game with SH.
PIRATES' COMEBACK FALLS SHORT, 60-51
After trailing by as many as 17 in the second half, the Pirates rallied to pull to within four, but could not come closer and fell to Louisville, 60-51, on Jan. 28. The loss is the Pirates' fourth straight. Senior Jordan Theodore led all scorers with 18 points. Senior Herb Pope notched his 11th double-double of the season with 12 points and 12 rebounds.
MOBLEY STARTS
Freshman Brandon Mobley made his first career start vs. Louisville on Jan. 28. It was the first time this season that the Pirates deviated from the Pope-Auda-Edwin-Cosby-Theodore starting lineup. Mobley played a season-high 29 minutes and scored six points while grabbing two rebounds.
TURNING TEAMS OVER
Seton Hall matched their season-high in forcing Louisville into 24 turnovers on Jan. 28. The prior high had been the season-opener against St. Francis (N.Y.). BIG EAST steals leader Fuquan Edwin was the major beneficiary of the turnovers as he recorded four steals.
PIRATES SUFFER FIRST HOME LOSS; 55-42 TO ND
Seton Hall suffered its third consecutive defeat on Jan. 25 with a 55-42 loss to Notre Dame at the Prudential Center. The loss snapped a 12-game home winning streak for the Pirates. Sophomore Fuquan Edwin scored seven points and pulled down a career-high 12 rebounds for the Pirates. Edwin also recorded three steals, adding to his nation-leading total.
2012 WILLARD CAMP DATES ANNOUNCED
Head coach Kevin Willard has announced the dates for his basketball summer camps. There will be two sessions held in the Richie Regan Athletic Center on the campus of Seton Hall University. The first session will run from June 25 through June 28. The second session will run from July 9 through July 12. This camp is for all boys and girls ages six through 15 years of age. WILSON, GERAMIPOOR EXCEL OFF BENCH
Freddie Wilson scored a career-high five points and Aaron Geramipoor matched a career-high four points at Villanova.
PIRATES FALL AT VILLANOVA, 84-76
Seton Hall dropped it second straight BIG EAST road game with an 84-76 loss at Villanova on Jan. 18. The Pirates missed their first nine three-point attempts and fell into an early deficit. Sophomore Fuquan Edwin led the team with 14 points, nine rebounds and four steals. Villanova's 84 points was a season-high for a Seton Hall opponent.
MARVELOUS MOBLEY
Freshman Brandon Mobley scored a career-high 12 points on the strength of three made three-pointers at Villanova on Jan. 18. The 6-foot-9 Savannah native also grabbed three rebounds and recorded a steal in 26 minutes off the bench.
KARLIS BREAKS OUT
Freshman Haralds Karlis scored a career-high 12 points at USF on Jan. 13. The 6-foot-5 sixth man scored all of his points on four made three-pointers. He was 4-for-5 from downtown in the game. Karlis entered the matchup averaging just 3.2 points per game.
WILLARD COMPETES FOR CYSTIC FIBROSIS
Head coach Kevin Willard has been selected as one of 48 Division I coaches to participate in the 2012 Infiniti Coaches' Charity Challenge. As a part of the competition, each coach has designated a selected charity as the beneficiary of their participation. Coach Willard has chosen to continue his long-standing relationship with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. For their involvement, each charity has received a guaranteed donation of $5,000, with the grand prize of a $100,000 donation up for grabs. Fan participation will determine the ultimate winner over an eight-week period beginning January 18th by registering and voting on a custom microsite on www.ESPN.com/Infiniti. The site will host feature videos of all 48 coaches speaking on their respective causes.
LATE USF RUN SENDS PIRATES TO DEFEAT, 56-55
USF held Seton Hall without a field goal for nearly six minutes late in the game and turned a 10-point deficit into a three-point lead as the Bulls edged The Hall, 56-55, on Jan. 13. The loss snapped a four-game win streak for Seton Hall. Senior Jordan Theodore led the Pirates with 16 points, five assists and five steals. Seton Hall's 55 points is its second-lowest output of the season, while its 26 rebounds is a season low.
THEODORE NOTCHES ANOTHER HONOR ROLL
Senior Jordan Theodore was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Jan. 16. It was his second straight Honor Roll and third in the last four weeks. Theodore averaged 21.0 points, eight rebounds and four steals per game last week. He tied his career-high with 26 points and 11 assists in a victory over DePaul and led the Pirates with 16 points, five assists and five steals at USF.
REPRESENTATION IN TSN'S HALF-YEAR AWARDS
The Sporting News released its half-year awards and Seton Hall was very well represented. The national publication listed Kevin Willard as #2 in its top-five Coach of the Year rankings. Senior Herb Pope was listed as the #2 "Surprise Player," and as a team, the Pirates were listed as the nation's #1 "Surprise Team."
500-POINT CLUB
Sophomore Fuquan Edwin scored four points at USF and in doing so, became the 109th player in Seton Hall history to eclipse the 500 career point plateau.
PIRATES DOMINATE DE PAUL, 94-73
Seton Hall won for the 12th time in its last 13 games with a 94-73 victory over DePaul on Jan. 10. Four players scored in double-figures as the Pirates played their best offensive game of the season. Both Jordan Theodore and Herb Pope registered double-doubles and Fuquan Edwin logged a career-high 28 points to lead the way.
FANTASTIC FUQUAN
Sophomore Fuquan Edwin turned in his second straight career performance on Jan. 10 vs. DePaul. The Paterson, N.J. native scored a career-high 28 points on an efficient 10-for-14 from the field. He was also an impressive 4-for-5 from three-point range and grabbed nine rebounds.
PIRATES GET RANKED
For the first time since Jan. 30, 2001, the Seton Hall men's basketball team was ranked in the Associated Press (AP) Poll. With 205 votes, the Pirates were ranked #24 on Jan. 9, just ahead of fellow BIG EAST member Marquette.
GETTING OFFENSIVE
Seton Hall had its best offensive performance of the season vs. DePaul on Jan. 10. The Pirates scored a season-high 94 points and shot a season-best 58.7% (37-for-63) from the field. The team was also 11-for-21 from three-point range... the 11 made also being a season-high.
THE COSBY SHOW
Freshman Aaron Cosby scored a career-high 15 points on the strength of three made three-pointers vs. DePaul on Jan. 10. Cosby also dished out two assists and had one steal in 32 minutes. The freshman phenom has started 27 of 28 games so far for the Pirates.
NATION'S BEST POINT GUARD?
Senior Jordan Theodore continued his tremendous 2011-12 campaign with 26 points and 11 assists vs. DePaul on Jan. 10. He is on pace to shatter Seton Hall's single-season record for assists and recently moved into fifth place on the career list with 512. Theodore has recorded at least eight assists in 14 games this season and has six double-doubles.
PIRATES DOWN PROVIDENCE, 66-57
Seton Hall won for the 11th time in their last 12 games with a 66-57 victory at Providence on Jan. 7. The victory is Seton Hall's third straight and improves them to 14-2 overall and 3-1 in the BIG EAST. Sophomore Fuquan Edwin scored a career-high 24 points, while Herb Pope notched his ninth double-double of the season with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Jordan Theodore had 14 points, nine assists and six steals.
GREAT ON THE GLASS
Seton Hall grabbed a season-high 47 rebounds in its victory at Providence on Jan. 7. Senior Herb Pope led the way with 10 rebounds. Fuquan Edwin was second on the team with nine rebounds. Freshman Brandon Mobley tied his career high with seven rebounds in a career-high 28 minutes, while sophomore Aaron Geramipoor grabbed a career-high six boards.
EDWIN'S EXCELLENCE
Sophomore Fuquan Edwin had one of the finest all-around performances of his young career at Providence on Jan. 7. The 6-foot-6 forward scored a career-high 24 points, while connecting on his first five three-pointer attempts. He also grabbed nine rebounds and recorded five steals.
AT PRUDENTIAL CENTER
The Pirates completed the 2011-12 season with an impressive record of 13-3 at the Prudential Center, their best mark since coming to the building prior to the 2007-08 season. Last season Seton Hall went just 8-7 at their home arena. All-time, Seton Hall is 55-27 in the building. Furthermore, Seton Hall is 24-21 all-time at Prudential Center against BIG EAST opponents.
THEODORE NAMED TO HONOR ROLL
Senior point guard Jordan Theodore was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Jan. 9. He averaged 16.5 points, 10.0 assists and 4.5 steals in a week that saw Seton Hall go 2-0 with victories over #8 Connecticut and at Providence. Theodore, the BIG EAST assists leader, tallied 19 points and 11 assists vs. UConn and 14 points and nine assists at Providence. Earlier this season, he became the 38th player in Seton Hall history to record 1,000 career points.
DARLING DECEMBER
Seton Hall closed out the month of December with a 67-48 victory over West Virginia to improve the team to 7-1 in the month. It's the Pirates' best December since going 6-0 during the 1998-99 season.
PIRATES UPSET #8 UCONN, 75-63
Seton Hall held Connecticut to just 22 first half points, and 35.1% shooting for the game and the Pirates shocked the eighth-ranked Huskies, 75-63, on Jan. 3. Four Pirates scored in double-figures, led by senior Jordan Theodore who notched his fourth double-double of the season with 19 points and 11 assists. The Pirates also out-rebounded and forced more turnovers than Connecticut.
ANOTHER STREAK HALTED
Just three days after Seton Hall snapped West Virginia's streak of seven straight wins over the Pirates, it ended Connecticut's 11-game win streak. Prior to Seton Hall's 75-63 victory over UConn on Jan. 3, the Pirates hadn't beaten the Huskies since March 3, 2001. Until this season, Seton Hall had never beaten both UConn and West Virginia in the same year.
FU'S FIRST
Sophomore Fuquan Edwin recorded 12 points and 11 rebounds in Seton Hall's upset of Connecticut on Jan. 3. It was his first-ever double-double after coming up short six prior times with just nine rebounds.
MOB TACTICS
Freshman Brandon Mobley turned in the best performance of his young career against #8 Connecticut on Jan. 3. The 6-foot-9 Savannah, Ga. native tied a career-high eight points, while grabbing a career-high seven rebounds in 20 minutes of action. Mobley hit a pair of clutch three-pointers in the first half to keep the Pirates in front of the Huskies.
BEATING RANKED TEAMS
Seton Hall's victory over #8 Connecticut on Jan. 3 was its first over a ranked opponent this season and only its seventh in the last five years. The Pirates' last win over a ranked opponent came last season when they defeated #15 St. John's, 84-70, at the Prudential Center on March 3. Seton Hall also beat #9 Syracuse at the Carrier Dome last season, 90-68.
PIRATES MAUL MOUNTAINEERS, 67-48
Seton Hall earned its first BIG EAST win of the season with a 67-48 victory over West Virginia on Dec. 30. In their best defensive effort of the year, the Pirates held the Mountaineers to just 48 points, matching the season-low for a Seton Hall opponent. West Virginia shot just 32.1% from the floor and committed 17 turnovers. Fuquan Edwin led the team with 19 points. Jordan Theodore had 18 points and eight assists.
PIRATES FALL AT #1 SYRACUSE, 75-49
Seton Hall had its eight-game win streak snapped on Dec. 28 with a 75-49 loss at #1 Syracuse. The Pirates played the Orange much closer in the second half, but shot just 18.5% from the field in the first half and found themselves down 34-15 at halftime. Jordan Theodore led the team with 14 points. Seton Hall grabbed a season-high 45 rebounds, but committed a season-high 23 turnovers.
THEODORE JOINS 1,000-POINT CLUB
Senior Jordan Theodore needed just 12 points at Longwood to become the 38th player in Seton Hall history to record 1,000 career points. The point guard finished with a career-high 26 points against the Lancers. Theodore is now averaging 16.2 points per game this season.
BENCH BOOST
For the first time this season, Seton Hall's bench outscored its opponent's bench. The Pirates received career outputs from freshmen Sean Grennan and Brandon Mobley. Grennan tallied career-highs of five points and three assists. Mobley had career-highs of eight points and five rebounds. Every Pirate who played scored, including bench players Haralds Karlis, Freddie Wilson and Aaron Geramipoor.
PIRATES ROUT LONGWOOD, 87-61
Seton Hall started slow, but used a 13-2 run late in the first half to pull away and eventually defeat Longwood, 87-61, for its eighth straight victory and second straight road win. The Pirates shot a season-high 57.1% from the floor for the game, which included a blistering 63.3% in the first half. Seton Hall out-rebounded the Lancers, 38-30, and forced more turnovers, 16-to-9.
CAREER HIGHS
Senior Jordan Theodore scored a career-high 26 points on 11-for-18 shooting at Longwood. The point guard also dished out six assists and continues to lead the BIG EAST in assists per game. Sophomore Fuquan Edwin tied a career-high with 20 points on an efficient 9-for-12 shooting. He also grabbed five rebounds and four steals in a strong game.

Sophomore Aaron Geramipoor turned in arguably his best career effort vs. West Virginia. The 6-foot-11 backup center tallied a career-high four points in a career-high 21 minutes. It's his second straight strong performance.
HONORS FOR THEO
Senior Jordan Theodore was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Dec. 26 for leading the Pirates to a pair of road wins at Dayton and Longwood. Theodore averaged 20 points and 7.0 assists per game last week. His 26 points at Longwood was a career-high.
STARTING STRONG
With the victory at Longwood on Dec. 23, Seton Hall improved to 11-1 on the young season. It's the best season start for a Pirates' team since beginning 14-1 during the 1992-93 campaign. That season, the Pirates went on to win the BIG EAST Championship.
LET'S GO STREAKING
Seton Hall's victory at Longwood on Dec. 23 was its eighth straight. It was the longest win streak of the Kevin Willard era and the most since Seton Hall won eight straight to open the 2009-10 season.
NON-CONFERENCE EXCELLENCE
Seton Hall completed its 2011-12 non-conference schedule with a record of 11-1. It's the team's best non-conference showing since going 11-1 during the 1990-91 season. That year, the Pirates won their first BIG EAST Championship.
PIRATES WIN FIRST ROAD TEST, 69-64 AT DAYTON
Seton Hall used a balanced offensive attack and shot a season-high 54.0% from the floor to defeat Dayton, 69-64, in their first true road game of the season. For the Flyers, it was just their 13th loss in the last six years at home. The victory avenged a home loss to Dayton last year by almost the same final score (69-65). Seton Hall turned the ball over eight times in the first half, but just three times in the second.
AUDA-SIGHT!
Sophomore Patrik Auda recorded a career-high 18 points in Seton Hall's victory at Dayton on Dec. 21. The 6-foot-9 forward did so on 7-for-10 shooting from the floor, including 2-for-3 from three-point range. He also tied a career-high with three blocks. Over a stretch of 6:10 in the second half, Auda scored 11 straight points for the Pirates.
PIRATES OUTLAST MERCER, 80-77 in OT
Five players scored in double-figures as Seton Hall improved to 9-1 on the season with an 80-77 overtime victory against Mercer in the non-conference home finale. Senior Herb Pope had another monster game with game-highs of 24 points and 17 rebounds for his nation-leading eighth double-double of the season.
ROCK PROTECTION
Seton Hall completed its non-conference home schedule with a perfect 7-0 record. It's the first time since 2003-04 that the Pirates went undefeated at home against non-conference opponents.
MOBLEY RETURNS
After missing the team's first nine games to start the season, freshman Brandon Mobley saw four minutes of action vs. Mercer on Dec. 18. The 6-foot-9 forward grabbed one rebound and dished out one assist in his collegiate debut.
FOURTH STRAIGHT HONOR ROLL
Senior Herb Pope was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for a fourth consecutive week on Dec. 19. It marked the fifth straight week he was honored by the conference as he was named BIG EAST Player of the Week on Nov. 21. Last week, Pope tallied 24 points and a season-high 17 rebounds in a victory over Mercer.
STEALS RECORD TIED
Sophomore Fuquan Edwin tied Seton Hall's single-game record with eight steals vs. Mercer on Dec. 18. The Paterson, N.J. native tied former Pirates Level Sanders and Paul Gause, who notched eight steals three times. Edwin leads the BIG EAST and is third in the nation with 3.1 steals per game.
PIRATES CHOP DOWN WAKE FOREST, 68-54
Seton Hall used a 16-3 run late in the first half to lift itself to a 68-54 victory over Wake Forest on Dec. 10. The Pirates received another monster game from senior Herb Pope who tallied game-highs of 26 points and 14 rebounds. As a team, The Hall shot 48.9% from the floor compared to 39.6% for the Demon Deacons. Seton Hall out-rebounded Wake Forest, 33-to-28 and committed a season-low seven turnovers.
"HERB"ICIDE KILLS FOREST
Senior Herb Pope proved vs. Wake Forest once again that he's more than just one of the elite rebounders in the BIG EAST. The 6-foot-8 power forward erupted for a game-high 26 points on 8-for-9 shooting to lead the Pirates in a convincing 14-point victory over an ACC opponent. Pope also set career-highs with nine free-throws made and 14 free-throw attempts.
RARE WINS OVER SEC & ACC
Seton Hall's victory over Wake Forest on Dec. 10 completed a rare feat for the team. Coupled with their victory over Auburn on Dec. 2, it marked the first time the Pirates had recorded victories over an SEC and ACC opponent in the same season since the historic 1988-89 campaign. That year, Seton Hall defeated Kentucky, 63-60, in the Great Alaska Shootout and Duke, 95-78, in the national semifinals.

Last week, Pope averaged 25.5 points and 10.0 rebounds per game while guiding Seton Hall to victories over NJIT and Wake.
PIRATES HANDLE HIGHLANDERS, 78-48
Seton Hall used a 29-2 second half run to defeat NJIT, 78-48, for its fourth straight victory. The Pirates' stout defense limited the Highlanders to just four second half field goals and a shooting percentage of just 15.4%. Seton Hall grabbed a season-high 40 rebounds and committed a season-low nine turnovers. The Pirates scored more field goals in the second half (16) than NJIT scored in the entire game (15).
AMONG NATION'S BEST
Against Mercer, senior Herb Pope recorded a double-double, the 27th of his career. The 6-foot-8 power forward scored 24 points to go with 17 rebounds, displaying much of the inside rebounding prowess that had him become the first Seton Hall player to lead the BIG EAST in rebounding two years ago. His 35 career double-doubles make him the active career leader in the BIG EAST.
ASSISTING THE RECORD BOOKS
Senior Jordan Theodore recorded a career-high 11 assists vs. NJIT on Dec. 6. He recorded assists on the Pirates' first six field goals vs. NJIT, which had media members looking at the single-game record (17 - Paul Lape in 1973). Theodore is on pace for 210 assists this season.
PIRATES VISIT ST. BARNABAS
The Pirates took some time out from their hectic early season schedule on Friday, Dec. 9 to pay a visit to the patients at Saint Barnabas Medical Center. "It was a great experience," said senior forward Herb Pope. "It's a great feeling to bring a smile to those kids' faces. We spent time talking with them and joking about how good the food was. Doing things like that really helps keep things in perspective and makes you realize all the things we have to be grateful for." Team members and coaches spent several hours visiting with the patients in the pediatric and burn units.
DILL'S DAY
Senior walk-on Pete Dill scored his first career points with a put-back bucket late in Seton Hall's 78-48 win over NJIT on Dec. 6. The 6-foot-3 guard put up a shot, got his own rebound and connected. He also picked up a career-high two rebounds in the effort.
RAINING THREE'S
Against NJIT, Seton Hall went 9-for-20 from three-point range. Seven different Pirates connected from downtown, with freshman Aaron Cosby leading the way with three made. Only Sean Grennan, who played just seven minutes, and Aaron Geramipoor, who has yet to attempt a three-pointer in his career, did not make a "three" among scholarship players on the active roster.
MEN OF STEAL
On Nov. 22 vs. Yale, Seton Hall recorded a season-high 13 steals. Both Fuquan Edwin and Jordan Theodore tallied a career-high five steals each.
PIRATES TROUNCE TIGERS, 81-59
Seton Hall handed Auburn its first loss of the season with an 81-59 trouncing of the Tigers in the BIG EAST/SEC Challenge on Dec. 2 at Prudential Center. Four Pirates scored in double-figures and were led by Herb Pope's sixth double-double of the season. Seton Hall is now 1-1 all-time in the annual event.
CZECH-MATE
Sophomore Patrik Auda scored a career-high 17 points in Seton Hall's victory over Auburn. The 6-foot-9 forward did all of his scoring in the second half and was a perfect 7-for-7 from the free-throw line. Auda also included five rebounds and three assists in a strong all-around performance.
FEELING GENEROUS
In Seton Hall's victory at Dayton, senior Jordan Theodore dished out eight assists to go with 14 points. Theodore is currently averaging a career-best 6.8 assists per game which is among the BIG EAST Conference leaders.

PIRATES PICK OFF PEACOCKS
Seton Hall used an 11-2 run late in the second half to defeat in-state non-conference rival Saint Peter's, 63-54, on Nov. 26 at the Prudential Center. Both Pirates' seniors, Herb Pope and Jordan Theodore recorded double-doubles in the victory. Seton Hall shot 42.1% from the floor and forced 17 Peacock turnovers.
BIG EAST / SEC CHALLENGE
The Pirates hosted Auburn as part of the 2011 field for the BIG EAST/SEC Challenge on Friday, Dec. 2. The game was carried by ESPNU. Last season, Seton Hall lost to Arkansas, 71-62 at Louisville, in this event. The Pirates did however, go 1-1 against SEC opponents in 2010-11 with an 83-78 victory over Alabama in the opening round of the U.S. Virgin Islands Paradise Jam. This was the first-ever meeting between Seton Hall and Auburn.
PIRATES TAME BULLDOGS
Seton Hall returned to the win column with a 73-62 victory over Yale on Nov. 22. The Pirates had a balanced scoring attack with four players in double-figures. Seton Hall shot 44.6% from the field, their fifth straight game of shooting 40% or better. The Pirates improved to 4-1 with the victory despite shooting just 2-for-16 from three-point range in the victory.

Super-sophomore Fuquan Edwin scored a career-high 20 points in a victory over Yale on Nov. 22. The 6-foot-6 swingman also grabbed seven rebounds and made a career-high five steals. Edwin played a game-high 39 minutes and was 7-for-12 from the field and a career-high 6-for-8 from the free-throw line.
A REGULAR OPPONENT
When Seton Hall hosted Saint Peter's on Nov. 26, it was the 83rd meeting all-time between the schools. The Pirates have faced Saint Peter's more than any other non-conference opponent. Overall, only Villanova (101), Georgetown (94), Providence (89) and St. John's (88) have logged more games against the Seton Hall than the Peacocks.
PIRATES FALL TO NORTHWESTERN, 80-73
Seton Hall rallied, but fell short, and suffered its first loss of the 2011-12 season, 80-73, to Northwestern in the championship game of the Charleston Classic. The Pirates trailed by 12 with just over 15 minutes remaining, but used a 15-0 run to take a three-point lead with 8:29 left. The Wildcats took control late however, connecting on 17-of-19 free-throws. Seton Hall was just 5-for-6 from the line for the game.

Seton Hall was 10-for-23 for 43.5% from three-point range against Northwestern on Nov. 20, all season-highs. Cosby made three, Herb Pope, Jordan Theodore and Haralds Karlis had two each. Fuquan Edwin made one made three-pointer.

Senior Herb Pope was named BIG EAST Player of the Week on Nov. 21 for his exploits through the first four games of the 2011-12 campaign. In leading the Pirates to a 3-1 start, Pope has averaged 22.5 points and 11.5 rebounds per game.
POPE'S PERFORMANCE
Senior Herb Pope played arguably the best game of his career against Northwestern in the title game of the Charleston Classic. The 6-foot-8 power forward erupted for a career-high 32 points on an efficient 14-for-17 from the field. He was also 2-for-2 from three-point range. Pope also collected nine rebounds, narrowly missing his fourth straight double-double, and recorded two blocks and two steals.
SECOND PLACE FINISH
Seton Hall placed second in the eight-team field at the 2011 Charleston Classic, falling to Northwestern, 80-73, in the championship game. Saint Joseph's won the consolation game over Tulsa for third place. LSU defeated Georgia Tech for fifth place, while VCU beat W. Kentucky for seventh place.
ALL-TOURNAMENT HERB
During the Charleston Classic, senior Herb Pope averaged 23.0 points and 10.7 rebounds per game to earn him a spot on the All-Tournament Team. Joining him was Drew Crawford and John Shurna of Northwestern, Carl Jones of Saint Joseph's and Anthony Hickey of LSU.
PIRATES DOWN SAINT JOSEPH'S, 78-70
Seton Hall used a balanced offensive attack to defeat Saint Joseph's, 78-70, in the semifinals of the 2011 Charleston Classic. Four players scored in double-figures including Jordan Theodore who led the team with 18 points. The Pirates trailed by seven at halftime, but shot 58.3% in the second half to outscore the Hawks, 46-to-31, in the final 20 minutes.
NEAR TRIPLE-DOUBLE
Senior Jordan Theodore nearly recorded the program's second-ever triple-double vs. Saint Joseph's on Nov. 18. The point guard tallied 18 points, 10 assists and seven rebounds in a fantastic all-around effort. The double-double was the first of his career. The only triple-double in school history was recorded by Eddie Griffin on Dec. 4, 2000 against Norfolk State. He had 21 points, 12 rebounds and 10 blocks.
EDWIN'S EXCELLENCE
Sophomore Fuquan Edwin enjoyed a 2011-12 coming out party vs. VCU. The 6-foot-6 swingman scored 18 points, one off his career-high, on the strength of 4-for-5 shooting from three-point range. He had nine rebounds and three steals.
OVERTIME WIN
Seton Hall's 75-71 overtime victory against St. Francis was the team's first extra-session win since they defeated Cincinnati at Fifth Third Arena, 67-63 on March 7, 2009. Since then, the Pirates had dropped six straight overtime games.
PIRATES RAM RAMS
On the strength of its defense Seton Hall defeated VCU in convincing fashion, 69-54, in the opening round of the Charleston Classic on Nov. 18. Seniors Herb Pope and Jordan Theodore had 20 points apiece for the Pirates. Seton Hall out-shot, out-rebounded and forced more turnovers than the Rams in a complete team effort. The Pirates shot an impressive 46.8% from the floor.
TAKEAWAYS

The point guard played 41 minutes and hit a running layup with under two seconds remaining to send the game into overtime. In the extra session, Theodore was 7-for-7 from the free-throw line to ice the victory for SHU.
CHARLESTON CLASSIC
Seton Hall was a part of the eight-team field at the 2011 Charleston Classic set to be held, Nov. 17-20, at Carolina First Arena in Charleston, S.C. In addition to the Pirates, participating schools include: Georgia Tech, LSU, Northwestern, Saint Joseph's, Tulsa, VCU and Western Kentucky. The 2011 Charleston Classic, a bracket-format tournament, will feature 12 games over the three days. Each team will compete in one game per day, advancing through a bracket-tournament format. Seton Hall will face VCU in the first round on Nov. 17.
SEASON OPENERS
With Seton Hall's overtime victory over St. Francis on Nov. 12, the Pirates have now won their opening game in 11 of the last 13 years. Last season, the Pirates lost at #22 Temple, 62-56, to begin the year. Seton Hall is 85-14-1 all-time on opening night.
AUDA'S "WORLDLY" PERFORMANCES
Sophomore Patrik Auda started all eight games for the Czech Republic national team last summer at the World University Games in Shenzen, China. He finished with team-high averages of 15.2 points and 7.5 rebounds to go along with 1.8 steals per game. Against Japan in the final game of the tournament, Auda tallied 27 points, the highest single-game scoring output by any Czech player in the tournament, and grabbed nine rebounds. He was 9-for-11 from the field, including 3-of-4 from downtown.
NOVEMBER REIGN
Seton Hall's win over Saint Peter's on Nov. 26 improved SHU to 28-6 in the month of November over the last six years.
COLLECTING CANARIAS
Freshman Haralds Karlis is the third current player on the Seton Hall men's basketball roster from the Canarias Basketball Academy (CBA) in the Canary Islands. Karlis re-joins former teammates Patrik Auda and Aaron Geramipoor who are both CBA alumni. The three represent a heavy international flavor on the Pirates this year. Karlis is originally from Riga, Latvia. Auda is from Brno, Czech Republic and Geramipoor is from Manchester, England.
WATCH THE PIRATES
Overall, at least 23 of the Pirates' 30 regular season games will be televised with nine games on national television. The Pirates' four non-televised home games will be streamed live via the Pirates Sports Network at www.SHUpirates.com. All 18 of the Pirates' BIG EAST match-ups will be televised either nationally or regionally this season. National broadcasts include games with West Virginia on Dec. 30 and Rutgers on Feb. 8, which will be shown on ESPN2. Games with Villanova on Jan. 18, and Rutgers on Feb. 25, will be carried by ESPNU. Contests with DePaul on Jan. 10 and USF on Jan. 13 will be shown on ESPN3.
PIRATES ADD TRANSFERS
Brian Oliver and Eugene Teague transferred to Seton Hall this summer following two seasons at Georgia Tech and Southern Illinois University respectively. Both will not be permitted to play in games for the Pirates this season per NCAA transfer regulations, but will be allowed to practice with the team. Oliver averaged 10.5 points and 4.5 rebounds last season for the Yellow Jackets and exploded for 32 points in a close loss to Syracuse on Nov. 27. In two seasons, he made 99 three-pointers for Georgia Tech. Teague tallied a team third-best 8.6 points per game and a second-best 5.3 rebounds per game for the Salukis in 2010-11. The Vineland native led Southern Illinois with a .606 field goal percentage.
TURN UP THE RADIO
For the ninth consecutive year, play-by-play voice Gary Cohen and color analyst Dave Popkin will team up to call all the Pirate action. Each of Seton Hall's 30 regular season games will be heard on either 77 WABC or ESPN New York 1050 Radio. 77 WABC has a long history of broadcasting Pirates basketball and will transmit 18 games this year including Seton Hall's first seven BIG EAST contests including its matchup with defending national champion Connecticut on Jan. 3. ESPN New York 1050 joins the Seton Hall family and will broadcast the remaining 12 games including the Pirates' season-opener vs. St. Francis on Nov. 12 and seven of the team's first eight games. As in the past, every Seton Hall game, home and away, will also be heard on WSOU 89.5 FM, Seton Hall's student radio station. Led by sports director David Rind, WSOU's coverage will again feature "Hall Line" following each basketball broadcast.
THE KIDS AT THE HALL
The 2011-12 Pirates roster will feature five true freshmen. Aaron Cosby, Haralds Karlis and Freddie Wilson signed in November, while Sean Grennan and Brandon Mobley were added in the spring.

NOTEBOOK: Seton Hall will participate in the 2012 BIG EAST Championship next week. The Pirates can still earn a seed as high as #8, which carries a first round bye. They can also earn the #9, which would face the #16-seed in the first round on Tuesday, or the #10, which would face the #15-seed on Tuesday.
Seton Hall's seed is contingent on its performance vs. DePaul on Saturday and the results of both Connecticut and West Virginia in their games also on Saturday.
