In Saturday’s game at West Virginia, sophomore Paul Gause (Pittsgrove, N.J.) recorded four steals, which made him Seton Hall’s all-time single-season steals leader.  Currently he has 84 on the season and counting.

Entering the game, Gause was tied for second with former Pirate great Glenn Mosley with 80 steals.  Dan Callandrillo had been the single-season leader with 81 in the 1979-80 season.

Gause has led the BIG EAST Conference in steals per game virtually all season long and currently leads with a 3.36 steals per game average.  Against, St. Mary’s on December 2, he tied the Seton Hall single-game record with eight steals.

Gause, in only his second season in the BIG EAST, is making a major play for the conference’s Defensive Player of the Year Award.
