SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – Seton Hall’s Brandon Walters (Brooklyn, N.Y.) has decided to leave the men’s basketball program and pursue transfer opportunities, it was announced by head coach Bobby Gonzalez on Friday.

“We wish Brandon the best of luck in his future endeavors,” Gonzalez said.  “He worked hard for us in his two years at Seton Hall.  By transferring he’ll have a greater opportunity to see an increase in playing time.”

Walters played in 41 games over the last two seasons including a career-high 28 games last year.  The 6-foot-9 forward averaged 1.5 points and 1.6 rebounds in 8.3 minutes per game in his Seton Hall career.  On Jan. 10, 2009, Walters scored a career-high eight points at Notre Dame, while matching up defensively against the BIG EAST’s leading scorer, Luke Harangody.  Walters grabbed a career-high eight rebounds in the 2008-09 regular season finale at Louisville.
