PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Senior Jon Prosinski (Skillman, N.J.) was named to the first BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll of the 2013 baseball season on Monday.

Prosinski, the Preseason BIG EAST Pitcher of the Year, opened the 2013 season on Friday with seven innings of one-run baseball at #1 North Carolina.  The right-hander limited the Tar Heels' potent offense to just three scattered hits while walking one and striking out two batters. 

Pittsburgh's Casey Roche was named BIG EAST Player of the Week, while Louisville's Jeff Thompson was named Pitcher of the Week.  Those joining Prosinski on the Honor Roll include: Sutton Whiting of Louisville, Chris Norton of USF and Eric Jagielo and Nick McCarty, both of Notre Dame.

Prosinski and the rest of the Seton Hall baseball team will return to action on Friday, Feb. 22, when they travel to Johnson City, Tennessee to begin a three-game series with East Tennessee State.  First pitch on Friday is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
