REUNION, FLA. - The Seton Hall men's golf team opened up its spring season on Monday with a match play event. The Pirates faced Marquette in the opening round, and fell 4.5 to 2.5, and then lost to Cleveland State in round two, 7-0.
Seton Hall faces DePaul today to finish the spring opening event.
Newcomer JT Harper (Pebble Beach, Fla.) defeated his first round opponent, Nick Nelson of Marquette, by two holes. Freshman Kevin Sanislo (Whippany, N.J.) edged Marquette's Michael Motz by one hole, while freshman David Cha (Carrollton, Texas) tied his opponent.
Heading into their first competition, the Pirates were surprised with a pep talk by LPGA legend Annika Sorenstam, who owns and operates the ANNIKA Academy at Reunion Resort.
