WBB Inks Nahodil & Alvarado to NLI
SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. - Seton Hall University head women's basketball coach Anne Donovan on Wednesday announced that center Tara Nahodil (Tri Valley High School - Hegins, Pa.) and guard Tianah Alvarado (Lakewood High School - St. Petersburg, Fla.) have signed a National Letter of Intent to attend Seton Hall and suit up for the Pirates for the 2013-14 season.

Nahodil is a versatile All-State center out of Tri-Valley High School in Hegins, Pa., where she helped her school post a 28-1 record as a junior when they advanced to the Eastern semifinals. An explosive scorer, Alvarado led Lakewood High School to a Florida Class 4A state championship during her sophomore season.

"I am so pleased to have Tara and Tianah join our program," said Donovan. "Tara committed to Seton Hall last year and showed us early on that she wanted to be a part of our growing program. Her size and potential are going to be a great addition to our post game. She has the strength and skill set to change the look of our inside game."

"Tianah's athleticism and scoring prowess will add to our perimeter play immediately. She is a tremendous athlete with a great feel for the game," Donovan said. "Her ability to score from the three-point line or off the dribble will make her difficult for opponents to defend."

She is a three-time All-Area First-Team honoree and was the Republican Herald Area Rookie of the Year in 2010, when she averaged 12 points and six rebounds per game with 46 blocked shots. Nahodil eclipsed 1,000-career points midway through her junior season, becoming just the sixth player in Tri-Valley history to achieve the career milestone.
