Nahodil is a versatile All-State center out of Tri-Valley High School in Hegins, Pa., where she helped her school post a 28-1 record as a junior when they advanced to the Eastern semifinals. An explosive scorer, Alvarado led Lakewood High School to a Florida Class 4A state championship during her sophomore season.
"I am so pleased to have Tara and Tianah join our program," said Donovan. "Tara committed to Seton Hall last year and showed us early on that she wanted to be a part of our growing program. Her size and potential are going to be a great addition to our post game. She has the strength and skill set to change the look of our inside game."
"Tianah's athleticism and scoring prowess will add to our perimeter play immediately. She is a tremendous athlete with a great feel for the game," Donovan said. "Her ability to score from the three-point line or off the dribble will make her difficult for opponents to defend."
Nahodil, a 6-foot-4 center who is rated the No. 20 post player in the Class of 2013 by ESPN Hoop Gurlz, averaged 16 points, eight rebounds and five blocks per game as a junior when she was named a Pennsylvania Sports Writer's All-State Class A First-Team selection.
She is a three-time All-Area First-Team honoree and was the Republican Herald Area Rookie of the Year in 2010, when she averaged 12 points and six rebounds per game with 46 blocked shots. Nahodil eclipsed 1,000-career points midway through her junior season, becoming just the sixth player in Tri-Valley history to achieve the career milestone.
Alvarado turned in a wonderful sophomore season at Lakewood High School when she led the team in scoring, averaging 30 points, six rebounds, four steals and two assists per game.
She guided Lakewood to a 26-4 overall record en route to the Florida 4A State Championship, averaging 22.3 points per game in the semifinal and finals matchups. Alvarado was also named the Florida Class 4A Player of the Year following her 2010-11 season.
Alvarado has played four seasons with the Essence AAU team, suiting up this past summer for the team's top travel squad.
