The Pirate Sports Network is back for the 2012-13 season and better than ever! With the addition of multiple cameras, the live broadcasts can now be seen in High Definition with audio play-by-play and color commentary provided by industry professional Jon Schaeffer, Seton Hall's own Angelo Gingerelli and by the WSOU sports staff! MEET OUR BROADCASTERS
Jon Schaeffer returns for his fourth season handling play-by-play duties on the Pirates Sports Network. He recently completed his tenth season as a play-by-play broadcaster in professional baseball and fifth with the Philadelphia Phillies Triple-A affiliate, the Lehigh Valley IronPigs. In addition to having called more than 1,000 Minor League games, he has also handled play-by-play duties for hundreds of Division I basketball games and dozens of collegiate football games. Schaeffer is a 2002 graduate of Penn State University with a degree in Broadcast Journalism. While at Penn State, he was nominated for a Hearst award, recognizing excellence in student broadcasting.
Angelo Gingerelli is entering his third season as color commentator for Seton Hall Volleyball on the Pirate Sports Network. Gingerelli also provides commentary for numerous Seton Hall baseball games, as well as basketball and football games for other area universities. Gingerelli also serves as the Strength & Conditioning Coach for many of SHU’s varsity athletic teams, which gives him a unique perspective on what is happening on the field or court. He can also be seen combining broadcasting and strength coaching on “Realistic Fitness” a weekly show on Pirate Sports Net providing health/fitness/nutrition/wellness tips with a touch of humor.

Chris Paizis is a senior Sport Management major with a minor in Broadcast and Visual Media. A four year member of the WSOU Sports Staff and current Sports Director of WSOU, Chris is in-charge of all live audio events on WSOU.net and 89.5 WSOU. After graduation, Paizis plans on earning his MBA or JD. Paizis' favorite sports include soccer, baseball and football.
Vincent Coughlin is a junior Broadcasting and Visual Media major, with a minor in Political Science. A three-year member of WSOU and current Assistant Sports Director, Coughlin is responsible in supporting Chris Paizis with the running of the WSOU Sports Department. Vincent is also a Video Productions intern for the Seton Hall Athletics Department and responsible for assisting in live event streaming on the Pirate Sports Network and editing highlights of all broadcasted sports. Coughlin's favorite sports include baseball and college football.
Brendan Borthwick is a senior Journalism major. A four-year member of WSOU and current Assistant Sports Director, Borthwick is responsible in supporting Chris Paizis with the running of the WSOU Sports Department. After graduation, Borthwick plans on attending law school. Borthwick's favorite sports include baseball and soccer, which he enjoys studying the statistical aspect of.
