SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. - Seton Hall Director of Athletics Patrick Lyons officially announced the hiring of Jay Judge as the athletics department's new Assistant Director of Athletics / Development. Additionally, Bryan Felt and Kelly O'Neil were promoted to Associate Director of Athletics / Development & External Affairs and Assistant Director of Athletics / Marketing & Promotions, respectively.
"We are extremely excited about the hiring of Jay and the promotions of Bryan and Kelly," Lyons said. "Having oversaw the entire fundraising operations of a division I athletic department Jay will bring much value to our already successful Pirate Blue operations. In addition, Bryan's additional responsibilities are well deserved and I have no doubt that he will continue the excellent service he has already given the University and Pirate Blue. Finally, in one year Kelly has transformed our marketing and promotions department and we expect even better things to come. These changes are in line with our mission of continuing to provide our athletes with the best possible experience."
Jay Judge comes to South Orange after spending the last five years in the athletics department at Iona College. For three years, Judge assisted the Director of Athletics with the day-to-day operations of the athletics department. This past year, he served as the Assistant Director of Athletics and oversaw all fundraising operations for the entire athletics department. Prior to these appointments, Judge spent a year serving in the business operations office of the athletics department. A 2007 graduate of Iona, he worked four seasons as a team manager for the men's basketball program as an undergraduate.
Bryan Felt has been promoted to Associate Director of Athletics / Development & External Affairs after spending one year as Associate Director of Athletics / Development. In his role with Seton Hall, Felt oversaw all athletics fundraising, while also serving as the Executive Director of the Pirate Blue Athletic Fund. The 2011-12 academic year saw Pirate Blue raise the most money in history as well as set records in total donations. He will now oversee all aspects of communications, marketing, promotions and ticketing. Felt joined Seton Hall in December, 2001 as Associate Director of the University Annual Fund. He later became Director of the Annual Fund office before being promoted to Executive Director of Pirate Blue in September, 2004.
Kelly O'Neil has been promoted to Assistant Director of Athletics / Marketing & Promotions following one year as the Associate Director of Athletics Marketing. A 2008 graduate of Holy Cross, she handles a wide-ranging set of responsibilities that encompasses all facets of SHU Athletics' marketing initiatives for its 14 varsity programs. Most notably, she spearheaded a complete overhaul of the Seton Hall Athletics presence on the prominent social media platforms; Facebook and Twitter, as well as enhancing the game day atmosphere for Seton Hall's 14 athletic programs.
