WSWIM Earns Team Academic Honors
SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. - The Seton Hall University women's swimming & diving team earned College Swimming Coaches Association of American (CSCAA) Team Scholar All-America honors for the 2011-12 academic year, it was announced Tuesday by the association.

The Pirates achieved a team grade point average of 3.36 for the fall and spring semesters to achieve Team Scholar All-America accolades.

Seton Hall was one of nine BIG EAST teams represented on the list and The Hall ranked fourth in the conference overall and 53rd amongst the 131 NCAA Division I programs to achieve the honor.

In order to qualify for CSCAA Scholar All-America honors a team must hold a grade point average of at least 3.0.

Seton Hall completed its 2011-12 campaign with a 6-4 dual match record and the Pirates finished 10th at the 2012 BIG EAST Swimming & Diving Championships. The Pirates saw 16 of their 17 student-athletes qualify for this year's conference championship meet, 15 doing so with automatic cuts.

A total of five team records fell over the course of the year including the 1,650-yard freestyle (Kerrie Kolackovsky - 16:55.80), the 100-yard backstroke (Andrea Shuba - 57.87), the 200-yard freestyle relay (Rose Virgilio, Kelly Markwell, Alie Zelenky and Marielle O'Connor - 1:37.19), the 200-yard meley relay (Shuba, Kolackovsky, Markwell, Virgilio - 1:45.23) and the 400-yard medley relay (O'Connor, Kolackovsky, Markwell and Virgilio - 3:50.66).
