Ashmeade Plays For Jamaica

Morovis, Puerto Rico – Former Seton Hall women’s basketball player Tajay Ashmeade completed competition at the FIBA Centrobasket Tournament last week for Team Jamaica, who finished third in Group A and fifth overall for the tournament.
Ashmeade played in all five games, helping Jamaica go 3-2 overall for the week. The 6-3 center’s best performance came in Jamaica’s win over El Salvador on June 14 after netting five points and grabbing five boards in 10 minutes of action. For the tournament, Ashmeade averaged 2.2 points and 2.8 rebounds.
In her final campaign as a Pirate, Ashmeade led the team and ranked fourth in the BIG EAST, averaging 8.8 rebounds. She also paced the team with 31 rejections and played in all 31 games.
