DENVER, Colo. - Seton Hall University head women's basketball coach Anne Donovan was honored along with 10 other coaches during a special USA Basketball presentation at the 2012 Women's Final Four on Sunday, April 1, in Denver, Colo.
During halftime of the national semifinal between Baylor and Stanford, Donovan was recognized during a presentation to honor all of the former U.S. Olympic women's basketball coaches.
She was joined on the court by Geno Auriemma, Pat Summitt, Van Chancellor, Theresa Grentz, Nell Fortner and Billie Moore. Stanford head coachTara VanDerveer in addition to late coaches Kay Yow and Sue Gunter were also honored during the ceremony.
Donovan is a four-time Olympic gold medalist, winning gold twice as a player at the 1984 and 1988 games, once as an assistant coach in 2004 and as the head coach of the 2008 squad.
The U.S. Olympic Committee announced on Feb. 27, that Donovan is one of 12 individual nominees eligible for induction into the 2012 U.S. Olympic Hall of Fame. The U.S. Olympic Hall of Fame Class of 2012 will be announced in May.
