TAMPA, Fla. - The Seton Hall softball team is still in search of its first road and BIG EAST win after losing to USF, 8-0. The Pirates were shut out for the second straight day by the Bulls (18-16, 3-0) Lindsey Richardson.
USF wasted little time getting on the board in the first, loading the bases with no outs. Jo Jo Medina hit a sacrifice fly to centerfield, and tacked another on after a fielder's choice re-loaded the bases and a walk brought in another run.
With runners on second and third, catcher Nicole Loewenstein (Joppa, Md.) tried to pick off the player on third, but overthrew to allow the third USF player to score. Medina made it 4-0 with a single off the wall in rightfield.
The Bulls added a tally in the third, put two more across in the fourth, and put the game away.
Senior Danielle Zanzalari (Carteret, N.J.) took the loss and is 1-3 on the year.
The Pirates will return home to face Monmouth for a doubleheader on Wednesday, April 7, at Ivy Hill Park. First pitch is slated for 3:30 p.m.
