BROOKLYN, N.Y. - A late rally by Brown fell short as the Seton Hall women's basketball team held on to win the consolation game of the LIU Turkey Classic, 58-57.

Junior Ebonie Williams (Hagerstown, Md.) and sophomore Kandice Green (Baltimore, Md.) led the Pirates (4-3) with 13 points each.  Williams was selected to the All-Tournament team, while Green added 12 rebounds for her fourth double-double of the season.

After falling behind 5-0 to start, four different Pirates scored as part of an 8-0 run spanning one minute and 37 seconds as the Hall took a three-point lead.  A drought of nearly five minutes was ended when sophomore Whitney Wood (Santa Margarita, Calif.) drilled a three-pointer for an 11-7 lead at the 12:09 mark.

Another bucket from Wood gave the Hall a 17-11 edge with 8:44 left.  Brown (2-4) later closed to within 23-22 after four straight points from Christina Johnson, but four straight free throws by Green pushed the lead back to five at the 3:54 mark.  The Bears closed the half on a 9-4 run, including a buzzer beater in the lane from Johnson, to send the game into halftime tied at 31.

Senior Nicole Emery (Baldwin, N.Y.) scored four points in an 8-1 Seton Hall run out of the break as the Pirates took a 39-32 lead with 16:01 remaining.  The lead reached 10 at 44-34 when Williams buried a three-pointer with 13:05 to go.  Brown did not hit a field goal in the second half until the 12:41 mark when Johnson sank a driving lay up.

The Pirates maintained their comfortable lead until two free throws from Hannah Passafuime and a three-point play by Johnson made it a 51-46 game with 5:21 on the clock.  Williams sank a three for the Hall with just under four minutes to go, and her leaner on the next possession gave the Pirates a 58-50 advantage.

Lindsay Nickle hit her fourth three of the game for the Bears to make it 58-53 with 2:40 remaining.  Brown stole an inbounds pass and got a lay up from Aileen Daniels to cut it to three with 58 seconds left.  Following a missed free throw by Emery, Passafuime scored on a drive to make it a 58-57 game.  A shot clock violation gave the Bears the ball with 3.1 seconds left and the length of the court to go, and Brown called timeout with 1.5 seconds to go after a loose ball scramble.  Their desperation pass down court, however, was picked off by Williams to secure Seton Hall's win.

The Pirates are back in action on Thursday when they host New Hampshire at 7:00 p.m.
