SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. - Senior Melissa Bellomy (Arlington, Texas) was named to the 2009 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District II First Team. After being named to the second team the past two seasons, Bellomy becomes the first volleyball player to make the first team since Kari Belin in 2001.

Bellomy, a biochemistry major with a 3.99 GPA, has played in 48 sets and registered 54 kills and 22 blocks on the season.

The Pirates host St. John's this Friday, November 6, at 7:00 p.m. in Walsh Gymnasium.
