Welker Named CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. - Junior men's soccer player Andrew Welker (Mechanicsburg, Pa.) has been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team for the 2009 season.

 

Welker enjoyed a standout season both on and off the field.  The finance major had team-highs with eight goals and 19 points, while tying for the Pirates' lead with three assists.  Welker notched his first career hat trick in a win over Stony Brook, thereby earning the BigAppleSoccer.com Player of the Week award and a selection to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll.

 

Welker finished tied for second in the conference with 1.19 points per game and 0.5 goals per game.
