NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Sophomores Courtney Kilarski (Roseville, Calif.) and Elizabeth Verow (Barnt Green, England) competed in the main singles and doubles draws of the ITA East Regional on Saturday. Both played strong matches in singles play, but were eliminated in the first round and will continue competition i.n consolation brackets on Sunday.

Kilarski won the first set of her contest with URI's Kiersten Leikem, but fell ill in the second, and was forced to retire in the third (2-6, 6-4, 3-0 (retired)).

Verow fell in straight sets the ninth-seeded Stevi Petrelli of Yale (7-5, 6-4). Despite the defeat, head coach Greg Wyzykowski believed it was one of the sophomore's best matches of the fall.

In doubles, Kilarski and Verow were topped by Rutgers pair of Arlak/Ivey, 8-1.
