SOUTH ORANGE
, N.J.
– Former Seton Hall shooting guard, Jamar Nutter has signed a contract to play basketball in Denmark for the Bakken Bears.

Bakken is the two-time defending Danish League champion.

A mainstay in the Pirates’ starting lineup for the last three years, Nutter made 80 starts and played in 115 career games.  Although he was never the primary scoring option, his ability to score when needed was uncanny, and his reputation as one of the best long-distance shooters in Seton Hall history is well-documented.

Nutter ranks fourth all-time with 219 career made three-pointers and is tied for fourth with 609 attempts.  Although he never averaged more than 12.3 points per game in a single-season, Nutter finished with 1,165 career points, which ranks him 27th all-time in Pirates history.

Last season, Nutter’s greatest quality may have been his role as a locker room presence and vocal leader to a young band of Pirates.  The fifth-year senior helped guide Seton Hall to 17 wins and a trip back to the BIG EAST Championship.  He averaged 10.9 points per game for the season and exploded to record a career-high 29 points vs. Morgan State on January 5.

Seton Hall made one NCAA Tournament during Nutter’s tenure.  The Bloomfield, N.J. native scored 15 points in an opening round loss to Wichita State to complete the 2005-06 season.
