Men’s Soccer Alum Sacha Kljestan Leads United States To Berth in 2008 Olympics

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Seton Hall men’s soccer alum Sacha Kljestan and the United States Under-23 Men’s National Team have clinched a berth in 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing after finishing second at the CONCACAF Qualifying Tournament. 

 

Kljestan scored a goal in the United States’ 3-0 win over Canada in the semifinals that secured the Olympic berth.  Honduras defeated the U.S. in the championship game, 1-0.

 

Kljestan, who serves as team captain for the United States, earned Best XI Honorable Mention accolades for his performance in the tournament by the CONCACAF Technical Committee. 

 

The 2008 Beijing Olympics will take place from Aug. 6-23.
