GUEST PRIVILEGES LOCKERS EQUIPMENT ENTRY  |  USAGE
VISCEGLIA ROOM  |  LOST & FOUND COURT RESERVATIONS

  Guest Privileges

Members are permitted a maximum of 3 guests per visit, and must accompany their guest(s) at all times. No guests will be permitted in the building after 3:00pm. Members are not permitted to bring in personal trainers and/or coaches as guests. All guests must sign in and pay the appropriate fee at the front desk before entering the Regan Center. The fee is $5 per guest.

  Lockers

Day Locker Policy - Personal locks or locks purchased at the Fitness Center Desk for $5, may be used on designated day lockers for the duration of the members stay, but must be removed at the end of the day. Any locks remaining on these lockers after normal facility operating hours will be removed and all items within will be considered abandoned and discarded.

Rental Locker Policy - Rental lockers are available to members at the cost of $25 per year. Only locks issued by the Rec. Office may be used on rental lockers. The contract year for these lockers is from June 1st through May 1st, and members may use them overnight. Rental contracts may be obtained through the Rec Office.

The Rec Center Management does not assume responsibility for personal items left in lockers.

  Equipment

A variety of equipment is available to Rec Center members through the front desk, with a valid SHU ID. This may include, basketballs, volleyballs, soccer balls, racquetball racquets, racquetballs, etc. Equipment is issued on a first come, first served basis and for one-day only. Members are responsible for all equipment they check-out and will be charged a replacement fee for any lost, damaged, or equipment that is not properly returned. Members will be required to check out any equipment to be used by a guest.

Arrangements for equipment to be used overnight may be made through the Rec Office, located on the lower level of the Regan Center. These requests must be made one week in advance. For additional information, please call (973) 761-9722.

 

  Entry

All Access to the Regan Center must be made through the front entrance lobby. All other exterior doors in the facility are on a magnetic locking system and will only open in the event of an emergency. All members entering the facility must check-in at the front desk and present a valid SHU ID to gain admittance. Individuals will not be granted entrance into the building unless proper identification is presented and access is granted via the Security System. Identification cards are not transferable and ID's not belonging to the bearer will be confiscated. The building staff reserves the right to ask for additional identification at any time. Anyone under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

  Usage

Use of the Seton Hall University Recreational facilities is considered a privilege. Acceptable rules of conduct must be observed at all times. Anyone violating posted policies, or engaging in any disorderly conduct or inappropriate behavior, including verbal or physical abuse of employees is subject to immediate removal with loss of membership and facility privileges. Furthermore, all incidents will also be reported to University Security for additional action when necessary.

Scheduled athletic, intramural or open recreational activities will take precedent over other open recreational options on a daily basis. We ask that you be respectful of others using the space when engaging in your activity.

Patrons are not to move any equipment set up on the court. Users should ask the building supervisor on duty (available through the front desk attendant) for assistance with any requested equipment set-up or removal. Members are also asked to report any injury/accident or facility/equipment irregularity immediately to the building manager.

The following items and/or actions are prohibited in the facility:

Bicycles
In-line skating
Skateboarding
Animals (seeing-eye dogs excluded)
Smoking and all tobacco products
Alcoholic beverages
Spitting (except in toilets or trash cans)
Hanging on basketball rims
Fighting
Abusive language and profanity
Shirts and proper footwear must be worn at all times.

  Visceglia Room (General Fitness Space)

The Visceglia Room may only be used for scheduled aerobic classes and general fitness activities. At no time are contact activities including martial arts permitted. Members may use the TV/VCR at slower times for personal or small group workouts, but during busier times all members are asked to be mindful of the limited space. Because this is the only space available to all members for their general fitness needs, we cannot permit the usage of music or groups during the busier times. Please be considerate of your fellow members. Finally, we ask that any equipment you utilize during your workout is put back and cleaned with the provided wipes.

  Lost and Found

The Department of Athletics and Recreational Services is not responsible for lost or stolen items. All items turned into "Lost and Found" will be held at the front desk for 15 days, then donated to charity or discarded. Members and guests are advised to secure valuables in locker during workouts.

  Racquetball Court Reservations

Racquetball reservations may be made up to three days in advance through the front desk. Reservations may be made in person or over the phone by calling 973-761-9730. Court time shall be 45 minutes in length.
