SOUTH ORANGE
, N.J.
– Seton Hall’s Augustine Okosun (Benin City, Nigeria) has decided to leave the men’s basketball program and pursue transfer opportunities, it was announced by head coach Bobby Gonzalez on Friday.

“Augustine worked hard for us and was a solid contributor last season,” Gonzalez said.  “Unfortunately, we were not able to afford him the playing time he desired.  With his release, he’ll be able to play more at another school.  I wish him the best of luck.”

Okosun saw action in 30 games and made 11 starts in his only season as a Pirate.  The 6-foot-11 center averaged 1.8 points and 2.0 rebounds in 9.7 minutes per game.  His top performance came on February 6 in a loss to Notre Dame when he registered career highs with six points and six rebounds in 20 minutes of action.
