SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – Seton Hall men’s basketball head coach Bobby Gonzalez announced today that Jordan Theodore (Paterson, N.J.) has signed a national letter of intent to attend the University and play basketball for the Pirates beginning in the 2008-09 season.
The 6-foot, 170-pound point guard is the first member of Gonzalez’s third recruiting class and the coach is looking forward to welcoming him aboard.
“We are extremely excited about the signing of Jordan,” Gonzalez said. “He’s a natural born leader from a great winning program who fits our style of play perfectly. He’s quick, up-tempo, a great passer with excellent vision and he plays good on-the-ball defense. Jordan is a great kid who we think is going to be a star. He’s the type of person who will be infectious for our program... the type of kid that others want to be around and play with.”
Theodore averaged 16.9 points, 6.7 assists and 4.6 steals per game as a junior at Paterson Catholic last year. He helped lead them to an 18-8 record and scored a career-high 31 points vs. DePaul in the county final. Additionally, he was the point guard for the #1 rated summer AAU basketball team, the New York Gauchos.
